HOSPITALITY SENIOR DESIGNER

The position of Senior Hospitality Designer contributes to our success by designing and overseeing the schematic design, design development and project management for our hospitality projects. The designer will be expected to recommend a visual representation of the concept and communicate the Principal Designer's objectives orally and visually. The designer will be expected to manage all project-related tasks, client meetings and contractor coordination working directly with the Principal Designer and Hospitality Studio Director, collaborating with fellow studio members, clients, consultants, and artisans. You will generally work from our offices in San Francisco, but may be asked to travel from time to time.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the development and realization of project, start to finish
  • Lead team in conceiving of project concept and design to meet client program, NHID standards, local code, and project budget constraints
  • Preparing project cost and fee analysis and review project billing
  • Ensure on-time delivery of all contract documents
  • Coordinate and participate in the preparation of all contract documents including:
    • Design presentations
    • Mood boards
    • 3D Models & views
    • Rendered plans, elevations, and views

  • Work with Design Director to review scope, schedule, budget, staffing needs, and project milestones

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/QUALITIES:

  • Minimum 8 years experience in hospitality design or proven skill level

  • Comprehensive knowledge of hospitality design standards and an understanding of hospitality operations
  • Architecture or Interior Design degree, accredited 4yr+ program

ADMINSTRATIVE ASSISTANT to the EA

Administrative Assistant duties and responsibilities include providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the office. Supports Executives, EA and employees through a variety of tasks. Responsible for confidential and time sensitive material. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Studio Librarian

Summary of Position

The Resource Librarian oversees the scheduling, coordination and facilitation of Studio-wide vendor presentations; sources, updates, and manages digital and physical vendor resources; and establishes and maintains contacts with vendors, showrooms, and galleries. The Resource Librarian oversees the management of the Materials Library and supports the work of the Studio.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Vendor Management: The Resource Librarian oversees the scheduling, coordination and facilitation of Studio-wide vendor presentations; sources, updates, and manages digital and physical vendor resources; and establishes and maintains contacts with vendors, showrooms, and galleries. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Establish and maintain vendor relationships and up-to-date contacts.
    • Organize and schedule new vendor presentations and routine vendor updates
    • Create workflows and file structures for vendor resources Update vendor information across multiple platforms such as Studio Designer, Spexx, Canto, and/or Outlook
    • Update and maintain the digital and physical catalog library
    • Share vendor resources with the Studio
    • Represent the company and brand
  2. Materials and Resource Library: The Resource Librarian oversees the management of the Materials Library and supports the work of the Studio. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Manage the overall general maintenance, organization, receiving and returning. and updating of the materials in the library (including: fabrics, wood, stone, wall coverings, paint, hardware, finishes, rugs and carpets, mock ups, and/or other architectural element samples).
    • Oversee and manage interns for maintenance, general upkeep, and organization of physical library
    • Source materials for the library and assist with sourcing and procurement of materials samples for current projects
    • Assist design teams with sourcing of textiles, furniture, accessories, and art for current projects when necessary
    • Order new samples and return samples to vendors as well as assembling material boards and binders for internal and client-facing presentations
    • Ensure all samples and catalogs from manufacturers, vendors, showrooms and galleries remain current; input new resources into resource databases
    • Identify new vendors and resources, and share new product information with Studio; arrange for representatives to visit when appropriate
    • Explores, develops, and implements evidence-based best practices
    • Create and/or maintain systems for effective material organization for Designers and general upkeep
    • Be the primary resource for administering project archiving standards throughout the project lifecycle (digital and physical clean up and archiving), mentoring project staff on protocols for proper digital and physical lifecycle management
    • Assist with information search requests for design team members
    • Collaborate with the Program Managers and Operations Manager to manage season interns

3D ARTIST

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The position of 3D Artist contributes to the success of NICOLEHOLLIS by creating architectural and interior design renderings for residential and hospitality projects. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience working in the architectural 3D modeling industry with a solid understanding of applying materials, lighting a scene, and composition. Hand sketching and traditional rendering skills are a plus.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Produce high quality, photorealistic computer-generated visualizations, 3D interior and exterior imagery for use in client presentations and studies
  • Produce 3D photorealistic computer-generated visualization of custom furniture, lighting pieces.
  • Apply lighting and shading to properly represent photorealistic quality of renderings; consistently display a strong attention to detail and finishes.
  • Build a custom 3D model library of objects, furniture, lighting and more.
  • Concept development during pre-production phases with other designers.
  • Involvement in the preparation of client concept presentations.
  • Obtain and assemble data to complete architectural designs, visiting job sites to compile measurements as necessary.

INTERIOR DESIGN INTERNSHIP

We are looking for an intern who is dedicated to expanding his or her knowledge of interior design and is responsible, detail-oriented, and eager to assist in this close-knit office environment. This opportunity will offer a developing interior designer valuable in-depth, hands-on experience within the industry. Potential to develop into full-time Interior Design Assistant position for successful candidate.

Duties may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Creating and organizing project binders
  • Assisting with budgeting
  • Corresponding and coordinating with vendors and showrooms
  • Managing materials library
  • Filing and general organization as needed
  • Building and furniture product research and sourcing
  • Assisting designers with presentation drawings and samples boards
  • Updating design schedules
  • Coordinating pickups and drop-offs to the Design Center
  • Assisting with drawings and/or renderings
  • Various errands outside the office as needed

Candidate must be in last semester or quarter of senior year in Interior Architecture & Design program or graduate. Candidate should possess excellent organization and communication skills, must be proficient in AutoCAD, Sketchup, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and MS Excel and Word.

This is a paid internship. Candidates are required to work a minimum of 16 hours, or a maximum of 40 hours per week, and may work concurrently with an internship for school credit program.

Studio is located near San Francisco Design Center and a fifteen minute walk from Civic Center Bart or Caltrain.
