TIBURON BAY VIEW
Recently relocated from Hong Kong, the owners of this remarkable property desired a residence where they could relax and entertain as well as relish the close connection to California nature. Set on a Tiburon hillside with sweeping views of the San Francisco Bay, the residence carefully balances public with private—including a flowing floorplan and discreet enclaves for the extended family. NICOLEHOLLIS designed an environment that showcases the clients’ impressive Chinese and contemporary art collection as well as embraces the clients’ modernist leanings. The interiors feature an expressive vocabulary of fine artisanship, custom details and rich surfaces, such as oversize brass panels in a distinctive silver nitrate finish. NICOLEHOLLIS commissioned an extraordinary two-ton cast bronze screen from artist Michele Oka Doner, which serves as a structural anchor to the entryway and formal dining room as well as a statement of artistic integrity. An extensive furnishings program, including many custom designs by NICOLEHOLLIS, reflects the highly curated sense of place.
